The International Court of Justice ordered Israel to stop military operations in Rafah.
The International Court of Justice ruled on South Africa’s request to stop the Israeli operation in Rafah.
The International Court of Justice delivered the decision by a majority of 2-13. The decision was read out by Justice Nawaf Salam of the International Court of Justice on the application.
In the decision, it was said that the Israeli army will have to immediately stop the military operations in Rafah in the Gaza Strip, the citizens of the Gaza Strip are suffering from very alarming situations.
The court also ordered Israel to open the Rafah border crossing immediately.
The court said that the military operation in Rafah could lead to a very sad human tragedy.
In the decision of the International Court of Justice, it was said that Israel should submit a report to the court on the measures taken to improve the situation in the Gaza Strip within one month.
The decision also called for Israel to allow members of the international investigation team to enter the Gaza Strip.
The court said in its order that the Israeli actions in Rafah pose serious threats to the Palestinian people.
The court said Israel launched a ground operation in Rafah after weeks of heavy bombardment, failing to take security measures to allow Israel to withdraw from Gaza.
The court said that millions of Palestinians had taken refuge in Rafah, 800,000 Palestinians were displaced by the Israeli ground operation in Rafah.
The court said that the situation has changed after the previous orders of the court, the United Nations has repeatedly informed about the dangers of the Israeli operation, the dangers mentioned by the United Nations are starting to materialize.
Earlier, during the hearing of the application, it was argued by South Africa that the military operation in Rafah is the last stage of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza, the right to defense does not justify the genocide, to save the Palestinians. Additional steps are required.
South Africa pleaded with the court to stop Israel’s attacks before it was too late.
