
LAHORE: Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan says that we do not want a fight with any institution and government, but if we do not respect the courts, then do not expect anything from us.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the Pre-Service Training Corps at the Punjab Judicial Academy, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan said that justice is a great responsibility, judges should work without fear, the judge should have access to the law and the judge No one should come under pressure, judges should use modern technology, delivery of quick and speedy justice is our first priority, will start hearing through video link in Punjab.
He said that there are 14 lakh cases in Punjab, there is a shortage of judges, one of the major reasons for the delay in cases is strikes, the institutions are weakened by the fighting between the institutions, beware of those who want to fight the institutions.
Justice Shahzad Ahmed Khan said that every judge including me has great respect for the lawyer, we never want a fight with any institution or government, but we clap with both hands. Not to be, everyone has to work together to improve the system, judges, lawyers and related agencies.
The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court said that we have to answer to Allah Almighty, in the next world, if we are to be reckoned with, no one will stand by us. Respect is as long as the courts are respected. Don’t expect respect from either.
