
The government has appointed new directors for 8 electricity distribution companies.
According to sources, one director has been appointed as the chairman of the board of 3 discos, the appointment of new directors is aimed at quick approval of plans to sell the discos.
ISCO, GAPCO and FESCO will be offered for privatization in the first phase, while LESCO, MAPCO and HEZICO will be offered for privatization in the second phase.
CEPCO, HESCO and PESCO will be offered to the private sector for long-term concession contracts, while Tesco and Kesco will be kept under government control for the time being, subject to their specific conditions.
